AMFAR GALA IN NEW YORK, 2018

The Foundation for AIDS Research, amfAR is a non-profit organization that plays a critical role in supporting AIDS research, HIV prevention, education, and advocacy. Its annual AIDS Benefit is frequently considered the unofficial opening of New York Fashion Week: the gala is invariably a glittering event that draws stars and high profile names in the worlds of entertainment, fashion, art and theatre.

The founder and designer of Sybarite Jewellery Margarita Prykhodko accepted an invitation to the 2018 amfAR Gala in New York with delight. Naturally, she attended in true Sybarite style. Wearing our Briar Rose black and yellow gold earrings, precision-set with rubies, and black and white diamonds, Margarita posed for photographers alongside fellow guests Taraji P. Henson, who also hosted the event; Sienna Miller, Queen Latifah, Heidi Klum, Adrien Brody, Halsey, Hailey Baldwin, and Kenneth Cole, among many others.

As guests sipped chilled glasses of Perrier-Jouët and perfectly executed Absolut Elyx cocktails, they took part in the evening's fundraising drive, to further the vital research carried out by amfAR. The glamorous crowd were enthusiastic participants during the live auction, laying down bids for a Harley-Davidson Softail Breakout motorcycle, a trip for two to Paris with a private tour and tasting at Maison Perrier-Jouët; and an untitled photograph by Cindy Sherman.

The gala was a magnificent event and a successful one, raising $1.6 million for amfAR's AIDS research programs. Sybarite Jewellery was proud to be part of the fundraising efforts and to honour those involved in the fight against AIDS.
