THE CURIOSITIES COLLECTION AT THE ARTS CLUB, MAY 2014

Once frequented by Dickens, Liszt, Monin and Degas, among other historic luminaries of the arts, literature and science, The Arts Club was founded in 1863 and moved to its Mayfair premises in 1896.

In May 2014, it was the perfect setting for Sybarite Jewellery to present its 'Curiosities Collection', a sparkling event hosted by founders Margarita Prykhodko and Alyona Gasimova, and a good friend of the brand, Sacha Forbes.

The collection was delectably presented on silver platters, nestling among delicate late spring blooms, to the delight of guests, who included Serena Linley, Jacquetta Wheeler, Britt Lintner, Sarah Harris and Felicia Brocklebank. The Curiosities Collection is beautifully audacious in its creative concept with breathtaking feats of engineering and craftsmanship on a microscopic scale.

With the notion that jewellery is there to enjoy, guests were encouraged to play with the jewels and discover their hidden secrets. Vogue jewellery editor and author Carol Woolton was mesmerized by the kinetic movement in the Merry Go Round ring, while Amber Le Bon was enchanted by the concealed rubies and sapphires and the patterns they created inside the diamond-encrusted Kaleidoscope ring.

With the sparkle of exquisite precious gems to admire, and the fragrance of sweet peas and roses scenting the air, a caricaturist captured the early-summer magic with a series of portraits of the guests.
